Senior Software Engineer (Testing)

Job Description

Our client partner is a non-profit organization, focused on improving the blockchain ecosystem by promoting and developing open-source decentralized software. Backed by a number of number of profitable organizations and benefactors, they believe that blockchain-based technologies can change the world for the better, and are actively investing in initiatives such as core research, engineering development, and education to improve communication and collaboration within this young global community.

Some of the projects they're involved with include protocols and distributed databases that allow developers to leverage using any language they choose, frameworks that a allow a broader spectrum of developer to build blockchains for a large variety of use cases, and a free market network of blockchain products.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the testing group, you can expect to

- Review and improve protocol and software specifications.
- Review implementations to help ensure they match the specifications.
- Write extensive test suites that are language and implementation agnostic.
- Write software fuzzing tools.
- Help improve existing unit and integration tests.
- Work with engineers and researchers to improve the software development process and promote best-practices for quality assurance.

Must Have Skills:

- At least 5 years developing, releasing, and maintaining production software.
- Significant experience writing Golang and/or Rust, or demonstrating the ability and desire to become proficient in new languages quickly.
- Experience with specification and implementation of complex state machines as found in gaming, banking, etc.
- Burning passion for writing tests, and overwhelming desire to improve the quality of modern software.
- A deep understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Interest in applying formal verification techniques to real software.
- The ability to take ownership and see initiatives through.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, experience working with distributed teams, and enjoys working with and mentoring others.
