QA Engineer

Job Description

The QA / Developer provides software automated testing services to the Customer Solutions software development team for Online, Retail and Marketing applications. They will apply their knowledge of QA test methodologies and practices, testing tools and technologies to produce high-quality results.

•Completing all project deliverables on scope and on time
•Availability, stability and speed of the automation tools and framework
•Build and maintain relationships with related IT contacts
•Adherence to all department policies, standards, and guidelines

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Drive flexible, innovative and iterative architectural solutions with ease
 Design, maintain & implement lean architectural solutions within the existing automation framework
across multiple applications
 Implement & maintain automated test scripts to ensure adequate feature coverage
 Collaborate with developers & product team to ensure delivered features meet expectations
 Actively evaluate emerging tools & technologies for use within the automation suite
 Responsible for maximizing the maintainability and extensibility of implementation logic
 Create and review estimated automation ROI, time estimation and test scenarios for assigned
features
 Perform automation code reviews, ensuring that we are adhering to departmental standards
 Perform exploratory & black box testing regularly in order to proactively identify potential defects prior
to release
 Ensure Software Quality Assurance Standards are being met throughout the product lifecycle while
actively participating in agile ceremonies
 Effectively report and evaluate defects using a defect tracking system, ensuring appropriate
documentation to quickly reproduce & troubleshoot
 Timely escalation of risks & issues to QA Team Lead in order to collaborate on risk mitigation
approach(es)
 Be an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design
processes
 Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
 Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s
customers
 Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and
working to resolve them


Work Experience / Education / Certifications
•Computer Science Degree, other related diploma or equivalent experience accompanied with formal computer training
•Minimum 4-5 years of work experience in Software Quality Assurance with an emphasis on internet and e-commerce applications
•Minimum 3 years of work experience in QA automation, using Java with Selenium or Appium
•Professional experience using Git for version control


Competencies / Skills / Attributes
•Excellent communication skills
•Very Good knowledge of QA test methodologies and practices
•Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test procedures
•Experience in defect management (bug-tracking) software
•Experience in relational databases and data validation, browsers and Windows / Mac OS operating systems
•Experience in automated testing tools used for e-commerce applications (Selenium, REST, SOAP, java)
•Proficiency using version control system (Git)
•Self-starter who takes initiative and requires minimal supervision
•Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to focus and work in a fast-paced environment
•Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
