Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of large & complex implementation projects within our client’s provider solutions team.

•Manage delivery of transformational implementation projects:

Involve implementing new medication management technology;
Require strong change management capabilities;
Are large ($ multimillion), complex and carry significant risk;
Involve a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
Leverage large, cross functional teams comprised of staff, contract and client resources;
Focus on leveraging health information technology, management and/or integration to achieve better health outcomes;

•Employ rigorous project management discipline in all delivery work, including for example: status reporting; risk management; issues management; budget management; change control; forecasting; communications; reporting key performance indicators and project close;
•Structure projects for successful delivery with respect to resourcing, budget and governance;
•Produce and deliver high quality presentations with clear messaging and story line;
•Proactively identify and resolve project issues, employing strong tactical and critical strategic thinking and engaging organizational resources as required;
•Provide motivational leadership to project teams in order to consistently deliver high quality results;
•Develop performance, skills and knowledge in team members through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback and providing “stretch” opportunities;
•Attract new project delivery talent to the organization and participate in recruitment activities;
•Contribute to development and consistent use of delivery management methodologies, tools and templates across;


Must Have Skills:

Knowledge:

•Excellent understanding of healthcare industry, physician practice clinical and business processes, medication management, and/or pharmacy operations;
•Knows how to leverage organizational resources to resolve issues and expand business within a client
•Working knowledge of project management best practices;
•Knowledge of strategic planning and implementation, business processes and technology;
•General business and financial acumen;

Skills & Abilities:

•Excellent project management and delivery skills;
•Ability to proactively identify and implement communication, risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies to ensure project success;
•Strong tactical and critical strategic thinking capabilities;
•Excellent interpersonal skills interacting with a wide-range of clinical, IT and Management professionals, including executives and governance bodies;
•Proficient at communicating at all levels of an organization;
•Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop team and garner support from key stakeholders;
•Excellent presentation, listening, negotiation and problem-solving skills;

Required experience:

•Minimum 5 years of experience working in project management, information systems, health services delivery, and/or clinical systems implementation;
•Track record of successfully leading large, complex projects in a time-compressed, highly dynamic environment, often involving new technology;
•Experience leading without formal authority and working collaboratively across groups to achieve results;
•A passion for making a difference in healthcare;
•Unwavering commitment to quality and client service;

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

•Undergraduate or graduate degree: Business Administration, Health informatics, Engineering, Computer Science, Health Services Management, clinical profession (e.g. nursing, pharmacy) or related discipline;


Nice to Have Skills:

•PMP, CMC or equivalent certification is an asset.
