Director, Digital Product Design (UI/UX)

Job Description

As the Director, Digital Product Design you will be responsible for driving the User Experience and User Interface (UX and UI) design of the end-to-end customer experience across all digital properties including online, mobile and in-store kiosks. This includes:

Lead the design of digital experiences, including customer journey mapping, scenario creation, mocks and prototypes for all digital channels
Maintain a high level of strategic foresight by identifying customer and business needs, and adjusting departmental and team objectives accordingly
Lead the digital product design team including coaching and development, and the assignment of team members to projects from inception through launch and beyond.
Establish scalable digital product design practices that deliver a high quality of work across all initiatives, impacting multiple channels and properties, while seeking opportunities to adapt processes to increase velocity and quality of output

Oversee the digital design platform including tools and design patterns, enabling the digital product design team to innovate while providing the development team with self-service for routine design work
Collaborate with the Digital Creative Director and Design Studio to ensure customer-brand interactions are cohesive between digital products and studio-designed marketing and merchandising assets
Responsible for the use of data for the design and implementation of user experiences
Consult and collaborate with internal stakeholders to shape the user experience
Audit customer journey and competition to surface opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, sales and engagement with our brand
Advocate for research initiatives, including personas, competitive analysis, A/B testing and other user research by translating customer insights into actionable requirements
Lead and facilitate stakeholder alignment workshops using various design methodologies, including co-creation, ideation, sketching sessions, etc. to help educate and inform teams on design topics and trends
Work closely with technology and product management teams throughout product cycle, creating new concepts and iterating quickly on solutions when roadblocks are met
Model and advocate for broader adoption of design-thinking process across the organization
Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs
Set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable


Must Have Skills:

An inspiring leader with the ability to strategize and bring an innovative approach to product research and design
You possess a Masters or Bachelorís degree in Design or related field
You have 10 or more years of experience in product design for web and mobile
You have a track record in translating business needs into product experience initiatives in an agile environment
Proficient in Sketch, Invision, Framer, and other design tools, as well as design research such as field research, user interviewing, usability and A/B testing
Commercially oriented, data-driven decision-maker with deep analytic skills, have sound judgement, and a creative and a proactive approach to identifying and assessing opportunities
A strong communicator with the ability to tell compelling stories

Not a requirement but you may have experience facilitate design workshops and co-create sessions and design sprints service design and design thinking
Ability to share a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered product products / services shipped
