Our client is a well recognized name and a successful late stage venture with major funding/revenue. They are an app that tons of people use everyday and love, and are continuing to scale quickly while bringing digital efficiency to local commerce spaces. They are owning the space in North America and are currently expanding into Europe and Asia.

They are an agile and collaborative environment, and a culture built on humility, transparency, ownership, and grit; still in a stage where showing ownership and taking initiative can effect a lot of change.

The QA team is currently 4 people strong, looking to double in size. The team is made up of Software Developers in Test who are quite integrated with the rest of the engineering team, working collaboratively.

Were looking for an experienced QA Manager to take ownership of and establish a thriving QA environment. This person will lead, support, and mentor a team of Software Developers in Test, and set up/scale the automation environment. We are looking for someone with a passion for quality, solid coding skills, and experience with end to end testing. Technical leadership requires impact and ownership. A QA Manager is expected to be effective in the following areas:
Lead the team in creating, maintaining, planning, scheduling and executing project test plans and test cases
Manage the team. including hiring, performance management, coaching and creating processes
Take ownership of the QA environment and help set up automation, make recommendations for tools and processes
Take a hands-on approach, orchestrate and participate when necessary in testing activities including designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures

Must Have Skills:

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in a QA Management/Team Lead capacity
Experience in hiring, building and managing a QA Team
Strong knowledge of Linux, Java, and other open source technologies
Experience with microservices
Strong networking knowledge
Expertise in creating test cases and building test automation
Experience with Agile development process
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to drive unit, system, stress and performance test plans and strategies
Extensive experience and knowledge of test strategy development, test planning, testing methodologies, test automation and test case design techniques
Strong leadership skills
Great people and project management skills
Proven analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Nice to Have Skills:

Coding skills in Java and Javascript
Familiarity with AWS
