Automation QA Lead

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Team Lead, Quality Assurance provides software testing services to the Customer Solutions software development team for Online, Retail and Marketing applications. This role applies their knowledge of QA test methodologies and practices, testing tools, technologies, and leadership to produce high-quality results.

•Lead team of QA Analysts in the successful testing of multiple concurrent projects
•Suggest and implement improvements to current QA processes
•Mentor junior to senior QA Team members
•Be responsible for co-op and contractor performance and evaluations
•Create and review test strategies for sprints
•Overall ownership of quality for assigned team
•Analyze functional, technical and business requirements for assigned features
•Design, develop, implement and execute test procedures and test cases using manual and automated processes to test features
•Peer review manual test cases
•Participate in agile ceremonies
•Report on status of sprints and co-ordinate all test activity
•Interact with developers to ensure the deliverables meet testing requirements
•Highlight issues/risks to management team for resolution
•Investigate failing automated scripts and ensure defects are logged as required
•Report and evaluate defects and issues using a defect tracking system
•Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
•Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
•Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for customers
•Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Must Have Skills:


Work Experience / Education / Certifications

•Computer Science Degree, other related diploma or equivalent experience accompanied with formal computer training
•Minimum 5-7 years of work experience in Software Quality Assurance with an emphasis on internet and e-commerce applications
•Experience leading a team of QA analysts including the management of task assignment, test case reviews and adherence to established QA practices
•Experience testing of REST and SOAP web services
•Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Appium and object oriented programming languages such as Java
•Minimum 2 years of work experience in an agile team

•Experience in defect management (bug-tracking) software (JIRA)
•Experience in automated testing tools used for e-commerce applications (Selenium, Rest, SOAP, java)
•Experience in relational databases and data validation, browsers and the Windows operating systems
•Self-starter who takes initiative and requires minimal supervision
•Detail-oriented, able to concentrate and work quickly
•Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies
•Analytical and problem-solving skills
