You will deliver software engineering projects across the organization. The successful candidate will develop the project strategy, including planning and scheduling to ensure that all necessary components and deliverables will be met. The Project Manager plans, organizes, leads, and monitors the activities of cross-functional project teams while maintaining overall control of the schedule and committed deliverables, seeking executive guidance and approvals as necessary while adhering to Agile/Scrum Principles. Other duties of the Project Manager include working with teams in resolving discrepancies, removing or mitigating roadblocks, acting on issues of non-compliance, and facilitating communication among all project stakeholders.

As a critical member of our clients team, the ideal candidate will be someone who drives results and improves team efficiency, and is also highly resourceful in getting things done, and works well individually and collaboratively as a team.

This is a technical role and breaks down to approximately 70% hands on (coding, development team leadership) and 30% Project Management/Agile Leadership

• Plan, coordinate and deliver high-visibility and complex projects from design to development to production release.
• Evangelize Agile/Scrum principles within development unit and coach/mentor on best practices
• Foster Development team’s Self-organization
• Consulting team members regarding everything Agile
• Encouraging the use of Agile Engineering Practices within the Development Team (one click releases, continuous delivery, feature flags, etc.)
• Helping team to get rid of impediments
• Being a conduit to continuously improve process internally
• Manage a portfolio of projects maintaining clear project prioritization and resource allocation.
• Develop detailed project plans and schedules including project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
• Understand technical terminology, requirements and tradeoffs.
• Coordinate deliverables with internal teams, outsourcers, vendors, etc.
• Eliminate team and project hurdles and facilitate issue resolution.
• Define requirements for project risk and create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
• Help perform team assessments and evaluations with other department leads.

Tech Stack:
Currently working with: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Servlets, Struts, Tomcat, Oracle RAC, Linux/Unix
Incorporating: Spring, Hibernate, Angular/Ember/React/Node.JS, NoSQL, Cassandra, Hadoop, iOS/Android and other cutting edge techs

Must Have Skills:

• PMP Certification or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of IT project management experience, preferably in a fast-paced transaction-oriented environment such as financial services or -ecommerce.
• Knowledge of modern Internet technologies and software development practices.
• Demonstrated success defining and launching new Web-based products/services in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal supervision.
• Excellent communication, leadership and facilitation skills.
• Proven track record of working closely with engineers on technical issues and requirements to successfully launch projects.
• Previous experience in development (Object oriented programming, Java back end technologies along with exposure to open source and linux)
• Previous experience in front end technologies - (web 2.0 ideally)
• Proven ability to balance long- and short-term projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in Payment Software/System Development
• P.Hd or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Similar
