Must Have Skills:
Reporting to the VP Network Services, the Manager Network Security is a newly created role with a goal of increasing our focus on network security and significantly advancing our practices in this area relative to industry best practices. This job is accountable for all network-related security capabilities including firewall, internet security, network access controls and the overall security of our voice and data networks. This person will be a member of the Network Services senior management team, and will participate in guiding priorities and plans for the organizations enterprise networks. This position requires specialized and deep technical knowledge of network security matters and will also oversee a small team of technical resources.
Job Description: This role is responsible for overall delivery and performance of Network Security Team including Firewall, Internet Complex, IPS/IDS service and championing a strategy and implementing an overall platform for network security.
As well it will include the following accountabilities:
Manages/ Leads a team of IT specialists/ professionals in providing a range of services and solutions to the organization, ensuring organization standards are met and business objectives are achieved. Develop and lead the strategic direction of Network Security Act as a network security expert consultant / resource in system strategy, architecture and design Work with clients to prepare network security solutions that protect the company while meeting client objectives for new and existing systems Manage the integration of network security with all systems, projects and technical interfaces to ensure a high level of service and support to the client and efficient system operation Measure and monitor the level of service, analyze trends, agree on service target levels, and effective security event management Ensure operational, reputational, and proprietary risks are minimized and focus on process improvement Manage currency of the network security infrastructure Follow process management discipline for change and incident management of all systems managed Manage vendor relationships; ensure timely/accurate communication and resolution of issues, professionally manage any RFI/RFP processes. Provide insight, information and recommendations on industry trends and significant issues Promote/develop IT awareness of network security and technical understanding of business partners / clients Develop and manage a team of professional resources by recruiting, training, coaching and conducting performance assessment of team members Promote and support an environment that encourages productivity, innovation, teamwork, and a high level of professionalism Provide leadership to attract/retain high quality people, including appropriate employee communication, sound structure/processes, succession planning, etc. Coach team members and provide ongoing feedback to ensure achievement of business, department and individual goals Foster a cohesive team environment within own team and across IT as a whole Advanced knowledge of Bank/Financial Institution and technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) and managing people/projects Works independently and often autonomously in the management of projects, teams and operational disciplines and develops strategic thinking/ planning in the execution of work plans
Job Requirements
In depth experience with network security technology, operations and industry best practices Experience working with vendors and proven ability to manage and influence vendors Experience leading and managing teams Proven ability to work closely with technology partners and network service peers to deliver results Proven track record of delivering results and committed to operational and service excellence. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple portfolios, deadlines, and competing priorities. Strong customer orientation and a professional approach with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Previous People Management experience is required (5 years minimum). Self motivated team player with high energy and ability to work independently as well as within a team |
