Job Description:
Department Overview: We are looking for a dynamic IT Manager to join the Infrastructure Technology Solutions - Engineering group to lead a group aligned within the Software Engineering portfolio. Working closely with other Engineering groups, Architecture, Operations, and Business IT, you will lead a team of IT professionals, in multiple locations to deliver on key system initiatives while providing value-added insights and services to our business partners. The group consists of the Access Solutions team which is accountable for delivering Citrix remote access and application hosting solutions. The group also consists of Engineers accountable for solutioning and supporting our MOSS, IIS, and MQ services. |

Must Have Skills:
The successful candidate will have a breadth of IT and business experience and will be equally comfortable with overseeing a portfolio of projects and supporting existing environments on a unique and diverse set of technologies.
Key accountabilities are:
-Provide strong leadership, people management and coaching to team of 30+ IT professionals including people managers. -Support a work environment that promotes customer service, quality, innovation and teamwork. -Work closely with Architecture and Business partners to understand their IT needs and lead a team to design, build, test, and deliver solutions. -Oversee a portfolio of infrastructure projects consisting of development, integration, or operational initiatives. -Provided ownership and management of the technologies within the group portfolio and be accountable for currency, functionality, security, sound operational mgmt, advancement of the technologies, while meeting committed service levels -Lead teams that support and maintain existing environments (level 3 support), some of them on a 7/24 basis. -Report on project progress, technology spend & forecast, risks and issues. -Identify and implement process improvements that will improve quality, efficiency and reduce costs. -Working with Architecture, set standards for Simplification of IT systems. -Working with Business IT, explain the need and value of developing to standard environments
Education/Accreditations: College / University or equivalent work experience
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
-Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to make things happen through the use of impact and influencing skills. -Proven track record of delivering results and committed to operational and service excellence. -Strong change management skills with demonstrated ability to act as a catalyst for change. -Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple portfolios, deadlines, and competing priorities. -Strong customer orientation and a professional approach with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. -Highly developed critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills. -Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). -Previous People Management experience is required (5 years minimum). -Self motivated team player with high energy and ability to work independently as well as within a team -Experience identifying and implementing process improvements -Ability to turn strategy into practical solutions. -Knowledge of Mainframe, Distributed systems, Networking, and large scale infrastructure software. -Willing and able to manage staff in multiple locations, including SOC, Mississauga, Toronto, London |
